Board Governance

Boards of directors and committees of management are critical to the work of many not for profit organisations. Effective board meetings have been a long term interest of Kimbra White. As the former Executive Director of Business East, she gave priority to the effective working of her Board and in particular to high quality reporting to ensure that the Board was in a position to make decisions.

Kimbra has been a director or committee member of the following organisations:

  • Director & Deputy Chairman, MEGT Australia Ltd, a vocational employment and training company with over 400 staff operating in all Australian states, other than the Northern Territory (2001 - 2007)
  • Council Member, Eastern Metropolitan Regional Council, Adult, Community & Further Education (2006-2007)
  • Committee Member, Community Relations Group Steering Committee, The Smith Family (current)
  • Committee Member, International Association for Public Participation, Australia ( current)
  • Board Member, Australian American Chamber of Commerce in Houston, Texas (1997 – 2001)

And the most challenging….

  • President of the local kindergarten committee (1992)

As a consultant, Kimbra works with boards and committees of management to facilitate strategic planning and decision making. She can also provide advice on board governance, and community and stakeholder relations. Kimbra is a graduate of the AICD's Company Directors Course and she holds a MBA from the University of Houston in the US. She has also completed a number of AICD's short courses on the ASX Principles, The Strategic Board and the Non-Profit Director.
